Breaking Barriers to Education in Rural Tanzania

In many rural and Indigenous Tanzanian communities, children face significant obstacles to getting a quality education. Schools are often far away, overcrowded, and lack basic resources like textbooks, trained teachers, and safe, well-maintained facilities. Classrooms may be in disrepair, with inadequate seating, sanitation, or protection from the elements. Language barriers and socio-economic challenges—such as child labor and gender inequality—make it even harder, especially for girls, to stay in school and succeed.

We empower rural and indigenous Tanzanian communities through equitable access to quality education, fostering lifelong learning and local leadership.

We collaborate with communities to build sustainable, locally driven solutions that strengthen social, education, and economic resilience.

We support clean water access and school nutrition infrastructure to ensure health, dignity, and opportunity for all, especially in underserved regions.

We promote the stewardship of natural resources through education and action that protect ecosystems for future generations.

How It’s All Connected

Education does not stand alone—it’s connected to every part of daily life. Without clean water and basic nutrition, students get sick or miss school. Without strong communities and local infrastructure, families cannot support long-term learning. And without environmental conservation, future generations lose both resources and opportunity. Global RISE takes a holistic approach, linking education with clean water access, sustainable community development, and environmental stewardship to create lasting change
